My Story
Engineering to crafts - Started as an engineer and MBA grad, but my family's artistic roots pulled me towards traditional crafts.
Creative childhood - Mom and grandma's crochet and basket weaving skills shaped my love for design since school days.
Mumbai to Bangalore - Moved from Mumbai to Bangalore in 2003, bringing diverse experience in music, radio, and communications.
Why I do this - Watching traditional crafts fade away moved me to start Varnam in 2012 to preserve our heritage.
My Work
What we create - We make Channapatna wooden toys, home decor, jewelry, handloom apparel, and ceramics with traditional craftspeople.
How we're different - We blend 200-year-old craft techniques with modern designs, focusing on natural materials and sustainable practices.
Supporting artisans - We primarily work with women artisans across India, creating sustainable livelihoods through craft.
Beyond products - We run initiatives like ME to WE and Kula Conclave to connect and grow India's handmade economy.
